"I agree the design of this combination set is wonderful . Unfortunately last night even when holding the guard ,I managed to slice my thumb and have had to have it dressed at the Minor Injuries Unit. Apparently they see this type of mandoline injury a lot and advise wearing a mandoline glove … no I hadn’t heard of them either but have managed to purchase a pair from that well known online store for less than a tenner."

"I love the spinner it really does the job, but beware of the slicer it is very very sharp please purchase cut resistant gloves before thinking of using it if you decide to purchase and use the attachments. i ended up cutting my thumb quite badly which resulted in a visit to the local MIU after the first use. I was told by a couple of nursing staff that they are constantly having people coming in with such injuries one saying buy protective gloves and another saying to stop using."

"This is a great set for salad prep. Please watch your fingers as the first time we used the slicer my husband took a little bit off the end of his finger and I lost a bit of nail. I don’t really like the device to stop this happening as it’s only useful for flat items not cucumber or pointy peppers. The slicing/spiralizer attachments could really do with guards as even getting them out off the spinner is problematic. Washing them is also scary. The salad spinner works well and I love that the dish can be used as a salad bowl. I’ve dropped a star because of the scariness of using the slicer."
